Board Director Nominations
The Nominating Committee of SAC Federal Credit Union is accepting nominees to serve on the Credit Union’s Board of Directors. Any member wishing to run for an open Board position should submit their name to the Chairman, Nominating Committee, SAC Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 1149, Bellevue NE, 68005-1149 no later than June 10th, 2016. After June 10th, any member who desires to run for the Board may do so only by a petition that must be signed by 1% of the Credit Union’s members. Petitions must be received by September 23, 2016. The Nominating Committee has set guidelines for nominees, listed below.
Each nominee (or petitioner) must submit to the President’s Assistant a brief statement of qualifications, biographical data and a signed certificate stating that they will serve if elected. Forms and details are available from the President’s Assistant, firstname.lastname@example.org. No nominations will be accepted at the Annual Meeting. The Nominating Committee has established the following guidelines for nominees:
- Must have served on a SAC Federal Credit Union committee for any six month period prior to application
- Must have good credit credentials
- Financial and/or business background preferable

Candidates are listed in random order.
Whitney C. Bonifant
Retired management and operations consultant. Education includes a Bachelor of Science from Ohio University and Masters of Business Administration from University of Nebraska Omaha. A credit union member since 2006 and served on the SAC Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee since 2011. Completed the CUNA Volunteer Achievement Program certification for Supervisory Committee members. Completed 30 correspondence courses through CUNA. Bonifant also served a three year term on the board of the Valmont Employees Credit Union. Has 30 years of experience working with Valmont Industries in a variety of management and executive positions. Most recently as a management consultant acting as General Manager for Valmont acquisitions in Oregon, Colorado, Canada, England, Mexico and Holland. Responsibilities included operations and financial management, strategic planning, developing the annual operating plan, and managing the cost structure. Taught marketing at Metropolitan Community College for 5 years and worked for the Creighton Business Institute as a problem solving and team building instructor. Taught in the aviation program at Ohio University. Served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant with 26 years of service, the majority of which was spent in Comptroller related assignments. Awarded a Business Management degree from the University of Hawaii while on active duty. Employed by Mutual of Omaha from 1980 to 1997 with financial responsibilities that included development and management of a multimillion dollar IT Operation budget. While at Mutual spent six years, 1981 to 1987, as a volunteer on their Federal Credit Union Board of Directors. His volunteer service with SACFCU started in 2001 as a member of the Supervisory Committee and was elected as Chairman for the last three years. In May, 2010 was appointed to the SAC FCU Board of Directors and currently serves on the following committees: Collection, Loan Review, Budget, New Products & Services (Chair), CEO Compensation, and Annual Meeting Committees. He has been recognized on numerous occasions by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) for completing over forty-two Volunteer Achievement Program courses to further his understanding of Credit Union operations. He was re-elected in November, 2013, for a three-year term on the SAC FCU Board of Directors.
Dr. Julia Cronin-Gilmore
Associate Professor of Marketing at Bellevue University; Affiliate Faculty Member at Creighton University; Editor, Journal for Excellence in Business Education; On the Board of Directors for the International Institute of Marketing Professionals; a Board Director for the American Association for International Branding; a Site Evaluator Chair (team lead) for the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education which is an accreditation body for academic business programs throughout the world; a speaker at International and National Marketing Conferences; published a marketing book in 2010. Education includes a Ph.D. in Business Administration specializing in marketing, an M.A. in Management, and a B.S. in Business, Marketing. She has been a SAC FCU volunteer since 2009. She currently serves on the following Committees: Collection, New Products & Services, Volunteer Training, and Annual Meeting Committees. Has been Board Treasurer since April 30, 2012. She was elected in November, 2013, for a three-year term on the SAC FCU Board of Directors.
Retired Chief Master Sergeant, USAF. Is currently a Supply Chain Manager for ConAgra Foods. Education includes a BS in Business Management from Wayland Baptist University and a MA in Administration from Central Michigan University. He has served on the SAC FCU Board of Directors since September 1994 and was elected as Board Chairman in 2009. He currently serves on the following Committees: Loan Review, Investment, Budget (Chair), New Products & Services, Personnel, Volunteer Training, CEO Compensation, and Annual Meeting Committees. He has completed over 20 Volunteer Achievement Program courses through the Credit Union National Association and received the Board of Directors Award and the Credit Union Leadership Award. He was re-elected in November, 2013, for a three-year term on the SAC FCU Board of Directors.
