Nomination Process

The Nominating Committee of SAC Federal Credit Union is accepting nominees to serve on the Credit Union’s Board of Directors. Any member wishing to run for an open Board position should submit their name to the Chairman, Nominating Committee, SAC Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 1149, Bellevue NE, 68005-1149 no later than May 16, 2014. After May 16, any member who desires to run for the Board may do so only by a petition that must be signed by 1% of the Credit Union’s members. Petitions must be received by August 15, 2014. The Nominating Committee has set guidelines for nominees, listed below.

Each nominee (or petitioner) must submit to the President’s Assistant a brief statement of qualifications, biographical data and a signed certificate stating that they will serve if elected. Forms and details are available from the President’s Assistant, jgraves@sacfcu.com. No nominations will be accepted at the Annual Meeting.

The Nominating Committee has established the following guidelines for nominees:
Must have served on a credit union committee for any six month period prior to application
Must have good credit credentials
Financial and/or business background preferable

Election Procedures

SAC Federal Credit Union members will be able to vote for the candidates of their choice to serve on the Board of Directors at designated Credit Union branches prior to the Annual Meeting. The Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors has approved five nominees from members who submitted their applications. Any member who desires to run for the Board may do so now only by a nomination by petition signed by 500 of the Credit Union’s members. Petitions must be received by August 15, 2014. Each nominee by petition must submit a brief statement of qualifications and biographical data along with a signed statement that the nominee is agreeable to nomination and will serve if elected. No nominations will be accepted at the Annual Meeting.

MEMBERS UNABLE TO VOTE IN PERSON MAY VOTE BY ABSENTEE BALLOT. Requests for absentee ballots may be submitted NOW and must be made in writing to:

Please print your name, address, and account number, and sign your request if it is in writing. Absentee ballots will be mailed beginning September 3, 2014. In order to be counted, all absentee ballots must be received by the Credit Union no later than September 28, 2014.

To be eligible to vote, you must be a member of SAC Federal Credit Union by August 31, 2014. A member is considered to be an account holder, 18 years old or older, and primary on the account. There is one vote per member, not per account. Election results will be announced during the Annual Meeting at the SAC Federal Corporate Headquarters in Papillion, NE on Friday, October 3.

Denise Seaman

Retired First Data Debit Card Training Manager and Sales Institute Project Manager; instructional designer at CSG International and the Railway Educational Bureau. She is the public representative on the Nebraska Worker Training Board for the Nebraska Department of Labor. Served 20 years on Bellevue School Board; elected Board President and Vice President; Chairman of Superintendent Search Subcommittee; Advisory Board member of the Bellevue Public Schools Foundation. Served on the Nebraska Association of School Boards Board of Directors. Member of First Presbyterian Church Foundation and past Trustee and Chairman of Personnel Committee. Education includes a BA in Education from University of Northern Colorado, a MS in Education from University of Nebraska at Omaha, and additional Business Administration coursework from Bellevue University. She has been a SAC volunteer since 2008. Prior to her appointment to serve on the Board of Directors in November, 2013, Denise served on the Supervisory Committee. She was appointed Secretary as of December, 2013. She currently serves on the following Committees: Collections, New Products & Services, and Annual Meeting Committees.

Patrick L. Jones

Retired Lieutenant Colonel, USAF. Served SAC as Chief, Intelligence Data Processing Division and Chief, Airborne Command Post Programming Division, and as Command Pilot. Founder/owner of Tri-J Computer Services, now retired. Education includes a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Utah and BS in Political Science from Oklahoma State University; Served 16 years on Bellevue School Board and as Past President; Offutt Advisory Council Co-Commander; served on the Nebraska Association of School Boards Board of Directors, Vice President of the Sarpy Serenaders Board of Directors, and Past President of both the Bellevue Dawn and Noon Optimist Clubs. He has been a SAC FCU volunteer since 1992, and was elected to serve on the Board of Directors in March, 1993. He currently serves on the following Committees: New Products & Services, Long-Range Planning, Loan Review, and Annual Meeting Committees; He is Personnel Committee Chairman and Collections Committee Chairman, as well as Board Chairman of SAC Financial Services, Inc. He was re-elected in November, 2011, for a three-year term on the SAC FCU Board of Directors.

William E. Hetzler

Retired Major, USAF. Was Chief, Weapons Safety Division, Strategic Air Command 1989-1992 and Chief, Safety Education and Training, Strategic Air Command, 1983-1989. He retired as Executive Director, Office of Safety, Nebraska Department of Labor, in June 2014. He is on the Board of Directors for the National Safety Council, Omaha Chapter and is a member of the University of Nebraska Medical Center Central States Center for Agricultural Safety and Health Advisory Committee. He is a musician and a regular volunteer at the Eastern Nebraska Veteran’s Home. Education includes a Bachelor’s in Music Education from the University of Florida and a Master’s in Human Relations from Louisiana Tech University. He has been a SAC FCU volunteer since 1992, and was appointed to serve on the Board of Directors in November, 2006. He currently serves on the following Committees: Loan Review, Investment, Budget, Long-Range Planning, Personnel, and Annual Meeting Committees. He was re-elected in November, 2011, for a three-year term on the SAC FCU Board of Directors.

Joceslyn Boyd

President and CEO of Strategic Professional Resources, Inc. from 2009-2011. Retired from the Federal Civil Service in 2008 after 35 years of service. Served as a member of the Washington, D.C./Arkansas Air National Guard 1974 - 1977. Began her career as a Clerk-Stenographer working for United States Air Force at the Pentagon in 1972. Changed career fields in 1982 to Computer Programming and then into Program Management in 1998. Served as Adjunct Professor at Peru State University and Bellevue University. Education includes a Bachelor’s in Management and a Master’s in Business Administration from Bellevue University. She became a SAC FCU volunteer in 2003, and was appointed to serve on the Board of Directors in August, 2008. She resigned from the Board of Directors in April, 2012 and was appointed to serve on the Board of Directors again in November, 2013. She currently serves on the following Committees: Collections, Budget, New Products & Services, Information Technology Advisory, and Annual Meeting Committees.

Whitney C. Bonifant

Recently retired as a management and operations consultant. Educational background is a B.S. from Ohio University and Masters of Business Administration from University of Nebraska Omaha. Spent 30 years with Valmont Industries in a variety of management and executive positions. Most recently as a management consultant acting as General Manager for Valmont acquisitions in Oregon, Colorado, Canada, England, Mexico and Holland. Responsibilities included operations and financial management, strategic planning, developing the annual operating plan, and managing the cost structure. Taught marketing at Metropolitan Community College for 5 years and worked for the Creighton Business Institute as a problem solving and team building instructor. Served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division in the aviation branch and is a certified flight instructor in single and multiengine airplanes, helicopters and gliders. Taught in the aviation program at Ohio University. Served a three year term on the board of the Valmont Employees Credit Union. Has been a SAC FCU member since 2006 and has served on the SAC FCU Supervisory Committee since 2011. He has Completed the CUNA Volunteer Achievement Program certification for Supervisory Committee members.
